Kadampa Buddhism in Brighton and the South

What to expect at a class

About the classes
At these classes you can learn basic meditation techniques. Meditation helps to relax both body and mind and leads to a deep experience of inner peace. Classes are suitable for both beginners and more experienced meditators. Anyone can practice meditation and everyone is welcome to attend.

We usually meditate sitting on chairs to ensure that everyone is comfortable. There is no physical exercise involved.

The general structure of the class:
* Simple guided meditation
* Teaching on how to solve problems in daily life
* Another meditation or questions & answers

The classes last for about one and a half hours. After the class everyone is welcome to stay for light refreshments.

Attending the class
The classes are organized as short courses, usually 3, 4 or 5 weeks long. You can attend the whole course or simply drop in whenever you can as each class is self-contained, or you can just come along to try a session.

Although the classes are arranged as short courses, you are welcome to drop in at any time for an individual class. There is no need to book.

The cost per class is £5. Classes are run by Bodhisattva Buddhist Centre in Brighton, registered charity: 1016354.
